www.boudillion.com/images/ProfileRockFace.jpgwww.wingstv.com/Bodybuilding/ProfileRock.JPGIn the quite grove below, or on top of this rock, of which the Wampanoag tribe believes to be the profile of Chief Massasoit, has been the site for alleged ghost activity. This spot, as well as the entire Freetown state forest was considered sacred ground of which it is said, became cursed once the land was taken from the Wampanoag Indians. It is believed that the malevolent forces will continue unless all this land is given back. If you google freetown you will find that it is not only a hot spot for criminal activity, devil worship and murders, it is also home of many spirits. What has been reported at profile rock in particular is an indian dressed in full war dress standing at the top of the rock. Many believe this to be King Metacomet (King Philip) trying to summons his father's spirit (Massasoit) as legend has it, this was one of the spots he spend his final nights alive at. Other things witnessed here are various indians in some kind of worship chants or dance. Across from the state forest is the most recognizable image in all of Southeastern Massachusetts; Joshua's Mountain, also known as Profile Rock. This rock formation in the shape of a Native American thought to be Massasoit, has been the site of numerous ghost sightings. Could King Philip still be in Freetown trying to win an impossible war oris there something else hidden in the stone?www.masscrossroads.com/darkwoodsprofile.html
