It's stainless steel I believe. I used to sell Fords and I worked the car show in Cleveland when they displayed one of those. It's the Reflex if I remember correctly.

I totally want that car! I'm buying a car after my trip in September and will probably have to be realistic and end up with a boring Taurus :-( Focus is their best seller right now but I don't like small cars.

oh - I bought a Focus once. Never again. Mr. Whammy is the one who talked me into it. He now drives it as his car back and forth the five miles to work. It's not powerful enough to kill itself, so we leave it out in windstorms hoping a big tree will get it. So far, no luck.

I like the Fusion personally. It's just the right size and has just the right amount of power. I'm probably going to get an Edge though. I want a small SUV so it's perfect.

Ours is a 2000 - the first year it came out. I'm guessing they hadn't worked out the kinks yet - I hear subsequent years were MUCH better.

Thanks for the advice!
I drive an hour to work and an hour back. I want a mid size car which is heavy enough to handle bad weather, but which does not suck the gas. I LOVED the older model Taurus' but I think the new body style is so totally bland. But the features are really cool, like volume control and mute being located on the stearing wheel.

I used to have an '03 Impala that had the radio controls on the steering wheel and I loved it. It was soooo much easier than reaching over to the radio. My hubby's car has them but mine doesn't. I do get better gas mileage than him though!
