It's almost summer time again and that means I have an ungodly amount of time to read. I was wondering if anyone else likes to read and would be interested in doing a book club type thing on here. I would pick the book and let everyone know and we could do it once a month or whenever is convenient for everyone. Let me know your opinions and if we want to start it i can probably start it halfway through this month. And if you're interested say what types of books, authors or genres you like. <3 LC

I'm in the procerss of starting up a summer book club. We are starting off with James Joyce's Ulysses @1,078 pages. And I have started a new book (the author is still alive on this one!!)Ken Follett's The Pillars of the Earth @973 pages!
But that's just me!!!! I have such a high reading speed I need something that will last me a few days!!

Sounds good to me also. Right now I'm reading J&G's first book. I like anything paranormal. But I'm up for whatever you wanna hand to me

lit i'm pretty sure i would only read ulysses if under torture! lol i think i'm going to maybe come up with a couple of books so if you read one maybe you could read another. i don't want to get too much into the long intelligent books but i'm going to try my best to pick interesting ones that aren't going to be boring.
i've been thinking about pillars of the earth to read myself not for on here, have you started it, is it any good?

I really am liking the Pillars of the Earth....It starts out in 1123 (England) and has a Stonemason that only wants to build a Cathredal....so far so good!!!

hmm i have the oprah book club list that i made an attempt to read last summer, so i'm sure i'll get to that one eventually : )
and i also have a list from the library called 1000 books you must read before you die. its insane. i think i've only read a handful and some of the ones on there i know i won't like so i'm not worried

It's fluff reading, but I have been wanting to get into Stephanie Mayer's Twilight series. Vampires and Werewolves and such. I've been follwing Sherrilyn Kenyon's Dark-Hunter series too, and I love it.

I am a huge Dean Koontz fan. Has anyone read the Odd Thomas series? It is my favorite set of books I have read of his.
