In light of recent events, the TAPS organization has come increasingly under fire. I posted in another thread that we can 'vote with our remote' and simply stop watching the show. It seems our choices for paranormal entertainment and investigation are widening these days. It got me thinking... would you ever turn off GH or GHI?

Certainly. Already stopped with GH and no more GHI.
They've "spoiled the milk" for me. I once thoroughly enjoyed paranormal docu-dramas, but I no longer believe them enough to be scared by them. The entertainment factor is gone. The only one I watch now is Supernatural - it's SUPPOSED to be a story. I'm going to look into Reaper as well.

I've really been getting into Paranormal State as a fun option to paranormal entertainment. I agree, Julia, the shows are far from believable. In the very least, Ryan is easy on the eyes and their cases can sometimes be very interesting. I also like how they will never go to commercial venues, but rather stay only in homes where real families can be tended to.
So, for that reason, I see myself turning off GH in the next season. There are certain things I like about GHI and think I'll continue watching them.

I've only been watching Paranormal state lately. Chip Coffey is such a hoot!

I've pretty much stopped watching GH and GHI. I will probably tune into GH when it starts back next week but I don't have high hopes. I've never watched Paranormal State or any of the others that have been cropping up.

I'll probably never stop as long as I have the time and their on. Same goes for GHI.

I have to admit, I pretty much only watch if a location sounds interesting, or if there is nothing else on (new Mythbusters and Pushing Daisies, it it's still one Wednesdays, will take precedence), or if Kris Williams is on (ahh, Kris). I may watch some of the Halloween episode, but I really got turned off by the whole Distillery incident.
As for GHI, sorry, but I never really got into the show. Something about it just doesn't click with me.

I'm worn out with watching TAPS right now. My husband stopped watching it back in June after the Moss Beach Distillery episode. A smart man he is! As soon as he heard about the harassment by the die hard fans, he went on a permanent boycott. But I continued to watch the show as one of my venues of entertainment. I lost faith in TAPS a long time ago. My reason for watching was to "debunk the debunkers" because of the amount of questionable evidence. Now, I don't think I can bear viewing another episode. It's no longer feels like entertainment for me.
The concept of the Ghost Hunter's show is a good one and it would be great if Pilgrim started having different groups featured. TAPS isn't the only paranormal group out there. I'm sure there must be groups who might actually try to use science in their investigations and not just run around with gadgets in the dark totally clueless of how they really work.
I don't know if I will continue watching GHI. The main reason I started watching was because Brian and Donna were in the cast. They are gone and the show is not the same without them.
I do watch Paranormal State and I like the show! They may be young, but I have seen more maturity and class with them than I have ever seen with TAPS. I like how they actually support and help their clients to the best of their abilities. They emphasize this more than showing how much evidence they can gather, which I don't mind.

I'll watch it until I get bored with it. It's all about entertainment for me, I've never believed in G.H.. Don't get me wrong, I do believe in ghosts and paranormal investigations, but G.H. is not real. They are on the science fiction channel and fiction is not real... Need I say more.

I've pretty much given up on GH. I know it's all for entertainment and everything, but I don't like the fact that they think they can dupe the viewers. As for GHI, I still watch it. So far I haven't seen them make any indication of outright faking evidence, so at least they aren't making the viewers look like idiots. The only problem is the team's cohesiveness from the cast changing so much, but I'm sure they'll be ok.

Entertainment has been "duping" viewers since it began, what makes these guys so special that we have to hold them accountable for their actions. They are "ghost hunters" on a station that is "not real". Do you turn off Brittany Spears when she's on the radio, do you turn off your t.v. when Martha Stewart is on? At least these guys can always say, "what did you expect, we're on the sci-fi channel."

I may give Paranormal State another chance - sounds like it's at least very entertaining!
And Mythbusters looks great tonight - they're going to look into whether or not we really walked on the moon :-) I say we did, absolutely, but that's a different topic altogether :-)

Julia, you can watch a couple of episodes that I posted here in the Paranormal State episode discussion thread. Take a look, you might like it. And, Mommybear, you have a great idea that Ghost Hunters should highlight other paranormal investigative groups. I bet they are so entrenched with TAPS that it won't ever happen on that show. BUT, wouldn't it be a great concept for another production company to pick up on? Love it!

although i dont always agree with actions taken, i will always watch gh, ghi, paranormal state, and psychic kids. I also enjoy worlds scariest places, and celebrity paranormal project. I am not saying I believe its real, I am saying the entertainment value hasnt waned for me yet. I dont get super excited and watch them the day they come out but i watch them within a day or two on youtube.
