For the uninitiated, Webkinz are a line of cutesy little stuffed animals who come with tags that bear codes on them. These codes can be typed in at www.webkinz.com (if you have an active account there) and you can adopt a virtual version of the pet. You can dress them, make up a room for them to live in, buy tons of various items in the W Shop, etc. You can earn money (KinzCash) to buy store items and junk like that. You earn money mostly by playing online games, adopting pets and many other ways. The website and everything out there is extremely kid-friendly, too, and some of the games can become painfully addictive. It's all a bunch of fun things to do and it's all totally safe.
Even though I am an adult, I got into this really big! Someone bought my first Webkinz for me as a gift from a cross-country trip and I went ahead and activated its code. It was all over from there! Maybe I am just a kid at heart, but I have been having a great time with this. I have been using a WWE related theme to my pet's names, since I am also a big dumb wrestling fan, too.
Anyway, I was wondering if anyone on here has heard of these, or maybe even shares my mania for these little suckers.
What I didn't know starting out, these things are sort of like the Beanie Babies of this generation. There are several pets who are retired from the collection, and they are worth a lot of money on eBay to other collectors. They introduce a new set of Webkinz every month, and there is an insane variety of animals available.
If you want any more info about this, let me know. I have become sort of a nut about this Webkinz thing and I have a lot of information for anyone who may be interested.
