I have loved animals my whole life and lost my cat, Domino, whom I loved dearly, several years ago. I had him for 15 years and he was about 17 when he died due to complications from kidney failure. After he died I got two kittens from a local shelter. I named them Joshua and Caleb. They would often wake me up in the mornings, jumping on the bed and running across me. There were many times that I would lie in bed after waking up and close my eyes, not wanting to get up. I would then hear a noise like one of my cats jumping on the bed and then feel what I thought was one of them walking around on the bed. When I would look around to see which one of them had joined me there would not be anything there. This has continued even though I moved to a new location.
In February, I lost Caleb, who was only 5 years old. He had been sick due to a bladder obstruction since early in the month but that had cleared and I put him on the new food that the vet recommended. My roommate arrived at home after work one day and Caleb was running ahead of her, excited to get the little bit of canned food he would get every afternoon. All of a sudden, he collapsed and seemed to have a seizure. My roommate rushed him to the vet, whose office was only 5 minutes away, but he could not detect a heartbeat. Needless to say, I was devastated when I found out what had happened. About 2 weeks later I was woken up in the middle of the night by the sound of Caleb's meow, which was very distinctive. I sat up in bed and saw what looked like Caleb except for the fact that he was glowing. I could even see the stripes that he had. I put my hand out to touch him and the glowing dissipated and he just faded away. I think that he came back to visit me because of the deep sadness that I had due to his loss. I still miss him but I am glad that I was able to give him a good home for the time that he was here.

I believe that I've had that with a few pets before. Maybe even a person or two. It's nice to have you here, hope you enjoy.

Aww that's good to hear your cat cameback to say goodbye. I know if my little pumpkin ever left me I would want him to visit me My little ghost kitty. Welcome to the board, thanks for sharing!

I'm on the phone with my mom and she just told me about something that happened over the weekend. My mom was at work so my dad stayed at home and did some cleaning. He vacuumed all around the computer desk in their bedroom. My mom came home later and went upstairs to change. She noticed two photographs on the floor propped up against the desk. They appeared to be placed there intentionally as opposed to being knocked over. The photos were from my grandparents' 50th anniversary party. The last time my mom had seen these pictures was when she had stored them in a cabinet (which my grandfather had made) downstairs after my grandfather's funeral. A few days before this happened, my mom had had a bad night missing them and had asked for a sign of their presence.
My mom told me about seeing an apparition of my grandma as well, but she doesn't rely on this experience as much because she was the only witness. My dad has witnessed her other experiences so she knows there weren't a "dream" or "wishful thinking".

My bed shakes, I don't know why. Maybe I'm imagining things.

Another little event in our home- it seems every few months something small happens- a door shuts on its own, a growl in my daughter's ear, a loud knocking on the closet wall in her room. This time, I got to see it first hand.
I was hanging out with my daughter two nights ago- we were both reading quietly on her bed. She looked up and asked if there was an earthquake just now. I told her I didn't feel a thing. She then pointed to her blinds where one cord as swinging wildly. The cords on the other end were completely still. The blinds were completely still. I checked to see if the heat went on- but it was off. There was also a huge armoire in front of the vent- we had spent the day renovating and painting her room and her furniture was haphazardly arranged.
We're not really freaked out by it; it was just a curious thing.

Last night my daughter had more happen to her. She was in the bathroom preening when she saw the towel hanging behind her flip up. Not in itself a big deal, but it was a little unnerving for her- she felt her privacy was encroached on. Unrelated, but adding to her nerves- at exactly 2:00 am last night she received a phone call on her cell phone listed as "Private"- she played the message for me this morning to get my take on it. It was a lot of garbled breathing and then a strange, disoriented voice muttered, "...saw you in my office..." and more garbled breathing then a distinct hang up- not a cell phone, but a regular phone being hung up. My poor girl!

My poor girl! That's really scary, JJ!! I don't know if the two events are related or not. The caller sounds like a pervert. As for the towel, I'd call in a ghost hunting group if it were me. I can look for one if you like.

Thanks KK- I am really hoping things will settle down and subside. If they don't I definitely will look into what I can do and seek your help on finding a good group. We bought my son a camcorder with night vision for Christmas and I intend to put that thing to use- but I need more film. (At 12, he used up all the film doing stop-action with his little green army men!) I found a local paranormal group here highlighted in our newspaper. But they said they regularly use the Ouija Board and perform rituals- that really doesn't jibe with our beliefs. I'm hoping it'll all just simmer down though. I'm taking a stab that it has something to do with a teenager that has high emotions and the remodeling we did in her room and the bathroom- so far that is where it has all happened.

Yea I don't think I'd let in a group that uses Ouija boards or does rituals either. I don't like them and would prefer not to have them used in my house in that way.

Believe it or not, the group we had in TIPS spotlight last week admitted they use them. I was stunned. APART had them for lunch :-)
