I live in a State where there is about 1 urban legend per city. You could drive 20 minutes in any direction to find out what everyone's been talking about. I'll start a list in this thread and see if anyone (somewhere else) has these same legends, until then, I give you this. www.deadohio.comit's a great website devoted to Ohio's history.

Yep, there's more to Ohio than corn, cows and, apparently, port-a-poopers!!

I can't remember exactly what road it was, but I was living in Columbus about 10 years ago. A friend and I were bored one night, and we drove out to some sort of country road. She stopped the car and told me there was an old asylum that had burned down somewhere out in the woods. I guess a lot of people died. She said she heard rumor that if you park down the hill from the asylum, put your car in neutral, it will be pulled back up the hill. I laughed and was like, sure lets do it! Sure enough, the car was pulled back UP the hill. I guess this was one legend that wasn't so much a legend!

I like the Haunted Ohio book series by Chris Woodyard (right now there are 5). There is a variety of urban legends, hauntings, and cryptozoology stories in there. Makes for an interesting read.

We almost have enough people in here to make a team to debunk Ohio urban legends. I know its been done before, but it would be fun. I seriously live by about 5 of them. Closest to the witche's grave in Columbia Station. Not too far from Hell town, Franklin's castle, and another castle on the east side.
