As you know I had done the World Series of Birding post a couple of days ago. This the follow up to that. Share you stories about birds, news articles, favorite birding spots, etc. You may also send fun facts about birds. I have been a birder since I was 9 and have a bird count around 450 species. Hey I travel a lot. Train05

I was walking to school one day and a bird crapped on my head. When I got to school I called my father and asked if he would pick me up so I could come home and clean myself up. He laughed at me and told me no. I had to clean up as best I could at school and suffer the rest of the day w/ crap on my head. True story.

I used to work at Lowe's Home Improvement Warehouse and we always had birds flying around and making nests in the roof beams. They crapped everywhere and made a huge mess. The little bastards even figured out how to open the automatic doors to let their buddies in.

This winter i was feeding my outside cats when I noticed the Cardinals and Blue Jays were eating the cat food as well. The birds (and cats) prefer Kit and Kaboodle over Nine Lives, by the way.

Hey so I guess I one reason for buying cat food. Reminds me of how Gray Jays act up north. Some stroies say even though there are not a lot of them in Vermont, they will appear in camps a land right on the table nibbling at your peanut butter sandwich. You can get as close to them as a foot!

Birding? What's that? Is it standing on the sidewalk and flipping off cars as they pass? I used to raise and breed pigeons, Birmingham Rollers. Is that birding? And, what's an EVP? ;D

ok.. here it goes.. and YES this is a true story!!! ... walking through London last year I spit my gum out on the sidewalk( I know I know classy) but as i spit it , it hit a pigeon in the eye. Smack fricken dab in the eye. The pigeon got pissed and started stalking us. It even called in other pigeons to follow us around the rest of London. I thought it was over when I came home, but last week I was doing the Walk for Hunger in the Boston Commons and wouldnt you know... suicide bomber pigeon came swoopin down at me and my sis. So I officially think the pigeon world has a Vendetta with me.

Has there been an outbreak of paranormal bird activity lately?
Interesting topic choice...
I am going out on a limb--I don't believe in birds--they are a hoax!
