Paranormal State has been given the OK for a secnond season, and Chip Coffey is getting his own reality show called "Psychic Kids: Children of the Paranormal". I know it isn't the same as GH, but I like the idea that there are more paranormal based shows on TV. Gives us something to talk about. www.variety.com/article/VR1117984764.html?categoryId=1614&cs=1

Thanks for the info!
Chip's a trip. I enjoyed the meet and greets on skiffy when he stopped by a couple of times :-)

Yeah, Chip's and odd little fellow.
I see the show listed for A&E and Bio. Looks like it will start on June 15. But it seems a bit weird. Here is the blurb:
In this special spotlighting psychic kids, we will focus on three compelling psychic and/or mediumistic kids (ages 10-17) as they learn to manage the gift they have been given. Like real life "Heroes", these kids feel isolated and alone, set apart from the other "normal" kids because of the burden of their powers. We will meet them at their home, in their own environment, to experience what they are dealing with before they come to a very special three day "camp" that will offer invaluable support and guidance from the professional psychics. Paranormal State psychic Chip Coffey helps these kids through this three day transformational experience.

So let me see if I get this. Chip helps them learn how to scam people by their "talent" right???

So let me see if I get this. Chip helps them learn how to scam people by their "talent" right??? Pretty much Sylvia Browne has stated her own granddaughter is a great psychic and she's training her. If you want to teach adults how to scam, that's one thing. But it scares me to think those two are molding impressionable young minds.

I have to wonder about parents leting thier kids go on this show. It is one thing to let your kid go to psychic camp for the summer (could it be any worse than fat camp?), but another to let them be followed by cameras.

We've gotten to be a pretty voyeuristic society - I think a lot of parents are "honored" that their kids are going to be on TV - for whatever reason, and they fail to see it for the exploitation that it really is.
I dunno - I would think that if I felt my child had some kind of a psychic gift (and who's to say whether these kids actually do or don't), I wouldn't want to further exacerbate their feelings of being different from other kids by then plastering them all over television. Talk about robbing them of any chance at having a normal childhood. Just let the poor kids be kids to the best of their ability. Geez parents - protect your #$%@ kids.
Sorry - protective mom here.

Don't be sorry, nowhammie (now hammie, no whammie?). A lot of kids could benefit from parents with some common sense.

Ya Im not fond when they involve children. Its hard enough for kids to understand whats going on or how to deal with it, never mind being thrown in the light of critics. I dont know how I feel about it.

NoWhammies From Press Your Luck...right? PGA Yes, although in the interest of Michael Rhodes style full disclosure, I'm not actually a game show monster, nor have I ever played one on TV.
