This one takes place late at night in a desolate college town deep in a mountain region. A freshman female in college is leaving to go back home for thanksgiving. She does not know the way very well, only the main road out of town. She decided to wait to much later than the other college kids left, as to avoid heavy traffic jams out of there.
As the girl drives down an empty main road, blasting her favorite music, thinking about the date she has with her crush when she gets back from thanksgiving, a pick up truck pulls up behind her, breaking the calm loneliness of the night. No biggie, the girl thinks to herself, and besides, it is probably just another college kid that had the same idea as herself. A few minutes rolls by and it seems that the truck has picked up speed and is now tail gating her. "What the hell?" She asks herself? She increases her speed only to notice that the truck driver increases his speed. If this wasn't annoying enough, he starts flashing his high beams. "arrggh what a loser!" The girl thought to herself. She decides to take a road off the main road up ahead hoping to lose the loser. But what was annoying suddenly takes a creepy turn as the truck, still on her tail, follows her right onto the other road. Periodically he still flashes his high beams at her. The girl becomes more frantic and starts taking left and right turns every which way, but the trucker driver can not be detered. Suddenly, and purely in a state of panick, the girl realizes that not only is this guy persistant, but she is also lost in the middle of no where with this creep on her tail. "Please stop...please" she cries out in anguish as she continues to try to pick up speed and frantically takes turns, now trying to find her way back to the main road. The truck driver does not stop, he only keeps up with her in speed and still high beaming her. Sometimes he even starts beeping his horn. The girl starts crying.
After an hour of this cat and mouse chase through the back roads deep in a desolate area, not another car or house in sight, the now hysterical girl is still being persued by this trucker, who has not slacked off the whole time. But the situation in her mind has gotten from bad to worse as she is sputtering on empty. Sobbing, and whimpering the girls vision is blurred from her own tears. She sees the flashing high beams as her car starts slowing down to a stop. She is out of gas and preparing to never see her family again, nor live past this horrible night. She rolls the car a bit to the side, and collaspses into the steering wheel, balling her eyes out, not wanting to look but peeking to see the man stepping out of the truck with a shot gun. Her last ditch attempt, although futile in this situation is the lock the doors.
The man runs over to the drivers side, and quickly tries to yank the door open. It's locked! Wasting no time he busts the window open and grabs the girl with such brut force, yanking very rough from the car. Screaming in terror the girl starts kicking and trying to punch this very large man who throws her off to his side, onto the ground at ease. But to this girl's surprise he does the most unsuspecting thing. He turns from her, facing the car, and proceeded to shoot at the back seat area of her car. She hears the sound of a deep pained moan, and to her astonishment, the back door of her car opens up, and this big crazy looking man stumbles out with a huge butcher knife in his hand. He had been shot in the chest, stood up, gave the girl and her unexpected hero one last evil lear, then fell to his death.
"Are you okay?" The truck driver asked, helping the girl to her feet. "I don't know" the girl whispered, still choking back some sobs. "I am very sorry that I had frightened you miss. When I pulled up behind you back there on the main roads I noticed what appeared to be some one hunched down into your back seats. I pulled up close to get a better look and confirmed that I was right about that. But then he started coming up, with his knife raised, I thought he was going to kill you, so I quickly flashed my high beams on, which made him duck back down again. I was trying to get you to pull over, but understandably you were afraid. So I figured I would stay right on your tail and high beam him every time he tried to strike."
