So my sis a skeptic like me (if not more), tells me today last night she went to bed and had a nightmare. The only thing is she was falling asleep and not actually totally asleep. All she knows is as she was going to bed and falling asleep an old woman popped up in her face (as it seemed) and scared her .. for the closest comparision Im going to have to compare it to tht stupid computer prank where your lookign at a room for something then the screen swaps to a ghost face in yours . She said it woke her up completely out of breath. She couldnt catch her breath and her dog who wakes for anything was sound asleep. She woke and sat straight up. She has never had this before or anything like it and told me cuase she knows i have a wicked interest in the paranormal and dreams etc. I told her that she might have just been stressed out and her mind was on overdrive or maybe she watched something before bed. She said no to the watching something before bed that wold coincide, but she maybe stressed with the upcoming wedding, but doesnt understand why the old lady where she would come into play. I did ask if she was awake and unable to move (thinking old hag syndrome) but she said no she just woke straight up as soon as the woman jumped in her face . So I thought I would run this by you guys for your thoughts .

I did ask if she was awake and unable to move (thinking old hag syndrome) but she said no she just woke straight up as soon as the woman jumped in her face . So I thought I would run this by you guys for your thoughts . I found this definition in an online Dream Dictionary: predictions.astrology.com/dd/oldmanoldwoman.htmlOld Man or Old Woman These are archetypal figures of wisdom or spiritual power in dreams. For many people, the role of the father or mother has been lost in society through either divorce, workaholism, or some other emotional dysfunction. The psyche is prone to look for versions of this loss wherever it can create them, even out of the self. Often times, these characters personify and validate an internal source of wisdom that has been written off by the psyche. It may be that you are confronted with a problem that escapes solution because of the most conscious worldview you ascribe to. However, another means of problem-solving that you view as old-fashioned may be effective. The wisdom figure in your dream is trying to teach you this truth. Do you fear or disdain either your lineage or the prospects of your own aging? Are you ambivalent about the purported wisdom of your elders concerning life choices you are now facing? Are you looking for or missing some wisdom that would aid your life-quest? Maybe your sister just has concerns about getting married. It is a big decision, so maybe she just wants someone to tell her she's doing the right thing. It's never easy to know if you are chosing the right person to grow old with.

I had something similar happen to me when I was young. It was one of those "not sure if you're awake or not" kind of moments. All I remember of it was waking up and seeing a man standing at the foot of my bed. He was badly burned and was just staring at me with wide eyes. So, I did what any kid does. Throw the blanket over my head, close my eyes, and hope it goes away. I can't remember if I woke up again after that or not since it's only a half-memory now. But the one thing I do remember is that it was daytime out.

those kind of events can be explained by sleep paralysis. Or it could have been a dream. Or real. I know - I'm a big help.

But the one thing I do remember is that it was daytime out. Except for your ability to throw the covers over your head, it sounds like sleep paralysis. Usually, with sleep paralysis, you feel like you're paralyzed and can't breath. That's because you are really still asleep and your breathing is still regular, despite you thinking you need to breath deeper. Then again, maybe it was the ghost of a burned man standing there. LOL
I'm a big help too.
