To me it just sounds like a girl whos a little effed up in the head...sadly mental disorders werent understood as well as they are now.

Very sad case. She simply starved to death. Very sad. I believe she could have been saved if the family had found someone who could have accepted their belief systems and worked within them, while keeping her fed and getting her the proper medical treatment she needed.

This is the story that the Emily Rose movie was based on, right? This is so horrifying. When did this happen? It doesn't look that long ago. Why didn't they get her into a hospital and either feed her via IV, or force-feed her. Absolutely unforgivable to left a young woman starve to death like that.

I think most of the possessions of the old days was nothing more than undiagnosed mental disease. I think that is why there are so few cases of possesions these days . There is so many more medical advances and findings these days, there is probably a medical diagnosis that could be found for any kinda of "possession" symptons.

i definitely think there are different types of possession. I don't think all possessions are like the one in the movie The Exorcist. I've been to a christian based seminar where they preformed exorcisms. It was pretty freaky but nothing like on tv. I mean nobody's head spun around and vomited green pea soup. It was pretty intense though.
