I'm surprised that no one has created a thread for The Twilight Zone, which has to be the grandfather of all paranormal television, before today.
Which are your favorite episodes?
Personally, one of my favorites (which happened to be on as I write this) is The Howling Man. I just love how it's shot as odd angles so that we see the same disorientation as the main character, David Ellington.

I'd have to think about my fav episodes.. but I always loved this show. Every Thanksgiving Day, my dad and I would watch the marathon. I tried to watch the newer series, but it just doesn't compare.
Ok.. I always enjoyed the one where the guy is about to die, and he wants his whole family to wear grotesque masks. And I like the one about the boy who wishes everybody into the corn field. LOL I have several in my head right now that stand out..

I like the episode where the guy (Burgess Meredith, I think) had a stop watch that stopped all time. Then he dropped it and it broke and time was stopped permanently.
I also like the episode with the doll "Talking Tina". That one scared the sh*t out of me.

Nothing creepier than a malicious ventriloquist doll coming to life.

The only thing I know about the twilight zone is it is in black and white which means I wont watch it I have sensitive eyes and it may be a mental problem but whenever I watch black and white tv i get a migraine. Oh and the song in the beginning and some guy saying dont try to adjust your tv right? I think thats the twilight zone.

The guy saying don't try to adjust your set is actually Outer Limits. Twilight Zone had a number of different opens in its run on television, all read by the show's creator, Rod Serling. Though similar, Outer Limits focused on Sci-Fi elements, where Twilight Zone ran the gamut of subjects, from Sci-Fi, Horror, and Fantasy.

oh I see i never realized there were two older shows like that, lol! Well, if you want to get technical... There's also Alfred Hitchcock Presents, which tended to focus on mystery/suspense stories, hosted by Hitchcock himself. Also on the air was Thriller, hosted by Boris Karloff. I have to admit I do not know all that much about this show, other than Sci-Fi used to run it real late at night (or real early in the morning). There was also One Step Beyond, which, if I remember correctly, took a scientific premise and extended it to what it could be in the future. Just to name a few more.

I think the one that scared me most was the alien cookbook one, where they figured out it was a cookbook on how to "serve" man.

Great thread, GG! I find myself saying "yeah!" to each one of the episodes that everyone has posted so far. I'd like to add to these: - Season 5, Episode 19: "Night Call"
Telephone calls begin to haunt a disabled elderly woman. She discovers the downed telephone line is lying on her husbands grave.
- Season 2, Episode 15: "The Invaders"
Original Air Date: 27 January 1961 When a woman investigates a clamor on the roof of her rural house, she discovers a small UFO and little aliens emerging from it. Or so it seems.
- Season 3, Episode 8: "It's a Good Life"
Original Air Date: 3 November 1961 On an isolated family farm, a young boy with vast mental powers, but lacking emotional development, holds his terrified family in thrall to his every juvenile wish. Everyone had to think "happy thoughts" all the time.
Here is a list of every episode made: www.imdb.com/title/tt0052520/episodes
