Gary Schwartz is a psychologist that for the last few years has run scientific experiments on mediums and spiritual contact. His subjects have included John Edward, Laurie Campbell, and George Anderson (to name only a few). He currently runs the Veritas research program studying the possibility of the survival hypothesis.

Schwartz' methods are highly suspect and often considered spurious by many scientists and skeptics. Many skeptics, including myself, have ripped his statistics, control proceedures, and logical thinking apart. Ray Hyman, a University of Oregon psychology professor and skeptic, has been the most vocal combatant against Schwartz and his issues:

Schwartz also has a new book out called The God Experiments (yes you read that right): www.amazon.com/G-O-D-Experiments-Discovering-Everything-Including/dp/0743477413/ref=pd_bbs_2?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1212524054&sr=8-2
A while ago on the Sci Fi board Dreamsinger and myself got way off topic discussing this mad scientist, and generated a great deal of response--so I thought it might be a good thread for this board! ;D
