This story is so tragic. I can't imagine what those boys went through when that tornado hit without warning. BLENCOE, Iowa — Frightened Boy Scouts huddled in a shelter as a tornado tore through their western Iowa campground, killing four people and injuring 48 others who had little to no warning of the approaching twister. Tornadoes also touched down in Kansas, Minnesota and Nebraska on Wednesday. They killed at least two people in northern Kansas, destroyed much of the small town of Chapman and caused extensive damage on the Kansas State University campus. The boys were split into two groups when the storm hit the Little Sioux Scout Ranch in the remote Loess Hills. One group managed to take shelter, while the other was out hiking. www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,365782,00.html

That really is awful. It's scary enough having warning that a tornado is coming, I can't imagine having no warning at all. I was on flag line in high school with the marching band and every summer at camp, we had a tornado. One year we actually stayed the whole night in a shelter. Honestly, I'm terrified of tornados. Thankfully, we don't get too many here.

Thankfully, we don't get too many here. Yeah I have a phobia about Tornadoes too. Practically once a week, sometimes a few times a week for the past 15 years I have wicked nightmares about them. Sometimes I've though "Oh no this is really happening and isn't a dream" but luckly they were dreams. The last one I saw in late July of 2006. I was at the place I work out at and a big early evening storm came in. Some one shouted that the clouds were doing some funky things and I got over and ran to look. Basically a funnel cloud was forming and wasn't quite at the point of touch down. But I was like mezmerized at the window watching this thing and even though it hadn't done a touch down yet, it was effecting the ground, like as it went above the parking lot a giant whirlwind spun out like crazy, and then as it went over the building, it shook it a bit and the power went out. By the time it got a town or two over it had touched down and messed up a street. It was most likely an F1, and some meteorologists thought it was a microburst, but what I saw was a funnel. And some feel it could have been a tornado, and other witnesses saw it as a funnel. I never bothered to call in to say what I saw with it. But I will say that I really would never see myself living in a state where they are so frequent. My thoughts go out to all the families effected by this storm. It's the saddest thing when children lose their life.

Oh, that is such a sad story. We have tornado warnings so often I don't even go to the basement anymore. Spring is a rough time for tornados. Those poor little biys.

This is heartbreaking. As a mom, I imagine sending my child off to camp (which I am about to do) - and having it end this way. Horrible for the boys who were there, horrible for the families. My heart goes out to all of them.
