OMG this story still has my jaw dropping! Religious leader told them the dead woman would come to life MADISON, Wis. May 9, 2008 (AP) Two children and their mother lived for about two months with the decaying body of a 90-year-old woman on the toilet of their home's only bathroom, on the advice of a religious "superior" who claimed the corpse would come back to life, authorities said Friday. The children — a 15-year-old girl and a 12-year-old boy — cried hysterically Wednesday after a deputy who came to their Necedah home looking for Magdeline Alvina Middlesworth ordered them out because of the stench from her body. The children were in foster care Friday. Their mother, Tammy Lewis, and self-described "bishop" Alan Bushey remained in custody on felony counts of being a party to causing mental harm to a child. "It's a sad case, and we'll continue to investigate it and try to ascertain just what occurred up there," Juneau County Sheriff Brent Oleson said. He said he had no further information on Bushey's religious affiliation. For FULL story read here... abcnews.go.com/US/wireStory?id=4825504This is just down right horrific in my opinion.

That is just horrible. It is a good thing they got the children away from the mother and the bishop. Hopefully the family will get the help they need. Obviously the mother is not right in the head to have fallen for whatever the bishop told her. Who was the 90 year old on the toilet anyway?

Ok you guys covered all of the mental ramifications of the whole thing, but the question I'm left with is where did they go to the bathroom?

Joe, I said the same thing. I read it to one of my agents and I asked her "where did they shower and how the hell did they take pee?" She said "The neighbors. Grandma is still in there." IDK about people anymore. This world is becoming more and more crazy by the day.
These poor kids dont deserve something like that. If the mother and the "bishop" called the cops right away. They wouldnt have been in trouble. What they did is hold a corpus hostage for two months. The poor woman couldnt rest in peace.

Ok you guys covered all of the mental ramifications of the whole thing, but the question I'm left with is where did they go to the bathroom? From the article... He described the one-story home in the town of Necedah as in decent repair, although the residents had been using "makeshift" toilet facilities because of the situation in the one bathroom. Right on and I totally agree! But as the article said... She said she propped Middlesworth on the toilet and left the room to call Bushey, who told her to leave the woman alone and pray for her, the complaint said. He said he had received signs that God would raise her from the dead with a miracle. So you have two screwjobs in their own delluded mind thinking that they were doing things to raise her from the dead.

people are crazy...
and pink don't bodies freeze into positions after so many hours so they probably just put her there while she was soft and waited for her to harden...
that sounds horrible but its probably the truth

Yes during riga-mortis. And not to sound even grosser but after about 3 days the riga-mortis normally goes away. That probably explains why she looked more like a heap on the toilet.

ok, ew.....
we have people pouring wax into other peoples veins to "preserve" them (no joke there is even an artist that did it! and put the waxed bodies out as art!) people wrapping dead bodies in silk wax and leaving them in bed..... and now this? ok... i think i am seriously glad my last requests include being cremated!
