As for the bar, it was'nt a strip bar. It was a topless bar. Big difference. Personally I may not have ever gone to it myself, but it was revenue for the locals. That is my main concern. Oops! Sorry, I misread the part about the bar. You are right - there is a big difference between a strip club and topless bar.

Yeah Foz, easy mistake mate, I personally don't think I would have gone to the bar myself. If I wanna see that crap I can see it online. I just know the amount of good looking single mums who could have really used the cash and as the wages in this area are so low... lets say 2 bucks 50 and hour, then the 20 bucks an hour they were going to pay these girls would have helped them get through a cold harsh winter so much easier. Robin and I try to help people in any way we can, Robin quite often comes home from work and empties our cupboards of everything to give to someone who needs it because they can't afford to feed themselves after they pay for heating. The church communites here can only do so much, and we, can't sit back and watch people suffer. On first arriving here in the US I had an aussie 25 bucks to my name. I had good people give me a hand up and now we pay it forward. When business opportunities are buried before they can even get started here, I see the average bloke who suffers because of it. We even donate our time to places like make a Wish and Habitat housing to help make this a better place for the locals and new people who arrive here. It's called looking after your mates. You never know when you meet someone knew, just who is going to turn out to be a lifelong friend. B.

That's really great the you guys dedicate so much time and energy to helping others! There aren't enough people like that in the world. I actually went to college with a few girls who worked at strip/topless clubs to pay their way through school. They couldn't have afforded to go without that job. In real life, the girls were not sluts at all - unless they told you where they worked, you would've never guessed. Some were single moms too, and they could afford nice things for their kids and a higher education with the money they made. Some of the clubs around here even offered tuition reimbursement programs for college girls. They realized that these girls didn't want to work at a club for the rest of their lives, so they made it easier for the girls to have a better future.

Now that Foz, is unreal. Thats what gives me back some of my faith in human nature. Stories like that stay with me for a long time. They inspire you to help others and maybe make it easier for them and their families. Thanks mate, after a crappy morning, you have just made me smile.

There are solutions to help people. Where I'm bitter at, is that the people never seem to get the real help they need, and the money is sneaking off somewhere else. I think it is great, honorable even, that individuals take a step out, and actually help people. It's a rarity these days, but I take my hat off to those who do.

We used to own twelve guns, now we only own four. We keep them locked in a closet, and bring them out only to go hunting or shooting. They are stored separately from the ammo, and with the trigger locks on. I feel that our habits and behaviours will reflect in our son's attitude. I feel when he is older, he will know more about gun safety and understand they are not toys, moreso than a child that grew up in a household without guns. People who use guns to commit crimes do not follow the law, so I don't understand how someone would think that outlawing guns would stop crimes. Did outlawing drugs stop people from doing them? All that would do is take the guns used for personal security out of law abiding citizens hands and the criminals would still have guns. We would have no way to defend ourselves. youtube.com/watch?v=hfefocCm8iU

Rather than passing laws against guns themselves, everyone should be required to take a gun safety course and renewal courses every so many years. They should also be required to have their guns kept in gun safes with trigger guards on them. I'm not sure how they could enforce such a law, but if there was an accidental shooting and they had no gun safe nor trigger guards there would be a hefty fine and criminal charges filed. It probably wouldn't solve all the problems, but it would keep a good percentage of gun owners safer.
PS: It's great to see you, Krystal. I was beginning to think you hadn't joined us over here. ;D

Just threaten him. Tell him you'll throw a box of spiders on him if he doesn't back off.

I think of it this way too..consider that town in GA that has it by law that the head of house hold MUST have a firearm, in fact they can be fined for NOT having one. Now a burgular or rapist would expect every home to be armed and potentially dangerous, however in any giving home on my state, they would expect us to be unarmed and THEY would be the danger. Consider which place a burgular would prefer to or dare to break into between the two kinds of homes.

I am not allowed to have a gun here as at this stage I am not a US citizen. This in fact makes it safer for you guys, as giving me, an eccentric aussie a gun is just asking for trouble. Besides, its funner just walking up to someone and punching them in the head lol. Yes, in my vocabulary, funner is a word. In general I love americans, but I am amzed at the stupidity of a lot of the people I meet here in the US. I agree that a lot of them should have some sort of test that would determine the stupidity of these inbreds. I mean I have met some dickheads from all over the world during my travels, but the knob jockeys here in SD... holy crap... the small town mentallity dumbfounds me. I mean it takes these blokes and hour and a half to watch 60 minutes, and they allow them to have guns ... B.

I agree totally with the gun safety courses, locks, etc. The answer is not in banning them, as the criminals will *still* have them, but in education and safety. If people learn not to be scared of them, which I know a lot of people out there are, that would help too. I mean, it's a thing, it doesn't think, nor act on it's own. How dangerous or safe it is lies in the hands of the person *behind* the weapon. It's like being afraid of a frying pan because people bap others 'up side the head with one!

So my fear of frying pans is unfounded???
