In my opinion, they all knew. Its not hard to find the details of the case and normally locations are scouted first. How much previous info did GHI do on their locations? Could this have happened on GHI? PGA

It seems almost impossible that they could have not known but I can't imagine the MBD crew would have went along with the whole "you didn't tell us claim" Because to people who faithfully believe taps word, would say bad things about MBD. I also don't want to believe that GH would knowingly frame MBD to be bad guys, although things are looking like it.

Jason Hawes responded to one of my emails this morning. On the issue of whether Pilgrim or members of its production crew knew about the rigged effects, he says he hasn't found anyone who said, "Yes, we knew." He said he's not calling Auerbach a liar but Jason simply doesn't know what to make of this.
I did go to his myspace page and there's no information there about this. I suspect he may post it later once he's done a bit more digging.
Thought you guys might want to know this. Don't know if anyone else has heard from Jason.
Michael

Yep! Sounds like Jay is just going to "play" the big dumb plumber!!! Litsnop, One thing is clear, Auerbach isn't buying into any of this from Jason. He and Jeff Belanger both spoke to the production company last summer, and he's been told by management at the Distillery (people he's known for years) that Pilgrim was informed about these special effects during the set up (no pun intended). However, perhaps these Pilgrim production people have all mysteriously disappeared. Interesting..... :-) Michael

I got kicked out of first year philosophy because I laughed too much (I was only 17). That is why I ended up in science.

OK, if Jason knew this why would he go and post negative things about the distillery? Man he needs to learn not to put things down in print. He has a habit of saying one thing and waiting to see which way the wind blows and then changing his statements to meet popular opinion. But it really comes down to this it is a freaking TV show on the Scifi channel.

He specifically addressed Loyd Auerbach's claim to have spoken to a producer who acknowledged the special effects. What Jason said was that he hadn't been able to locate anyone at Pilgrim who spoke to Auerbach (and thus could confirm the story about Pilgrim knowing about all this). He said perhaps the person no longer works for Pilgrim. He said he respected Auerbach and wasn't calling him a liar. He just wasn't sure what to make of all this. He emphasized that the Distillery should have told them, that there was plenty of opportunity to do so. So I don't think Jason said anything incompatible with his blog, but the tone seemed more mild. OK this discussion has lasted 7 pages and I am finding it becoming tiring and old.
Next Chapter please.
And one final question....Is this going to be on the final???
If you are a professor you will get my humor in this final question.

Season 1 of GH was shown in Canada on the DIVA channel!

But I have to admit even all these years later when I'm back in grad school for a 2nd time, I still get in trouble for making jokes. My kid gets into less trouble at school than I do.

I saw this restaurant location on a pararnormal show two years ago, I believe it was Haunted Travels. They absolutely showed us the place was rigged, they didnt hide it at all. The tour guide pointed out all the objects they rigged for audio or movement. How is it I was the only person who watched this episode? Does anyone else remember this show? Perhaps they are running out of cases to investigate, hey guys how about a haunted schoolhouse from the 1800's? I dont have a gift shop though... I remember that one, too. It always seemed to me that Moss Beach has some genuine paranormal activity and added some special rigging to enhance the creepy feeling, not to fool people into believing the place is haunted when it is not.

Right, and here's an important point. Whatever skeptics might think about this place, Jason and Grant are in a particularly bad position to deny the place is haunted considering the kind of evidence they've found persuasive in the past. But maybe they only count the evidence they find. Everything else must be ignored because they can't be sure about it. Good. Now they know how the rest of us feel in assessing the evidence they present. Michael
